TRICHY: Ordnance Factory Tiruchirappalli (OFT) has secured an order from the National Security Guard (NSG) for 100 Trichy Carbines (TriCa), a mini version of (TAR).
“While the demand for Trichy Assault Rifle (TAR) from central armed forces and state police forces is overwhelming, we have also secured an initial order to deliver 100 Trichy Carbines to the NSG,” Rajiv Jain, general manager in-charge, OFT, said on Monday. He was speaking on the sidelines of a defence exhibition on the factory premises.
Weighing around 3.17kg (including the magazine), TriCa is a lighter and a compact weapon compared to assault rifles.
